 This program is designed specifically for students entering 6th, 7th and 8th grades. To begin working on SAT vocabulary, reading comprehension and writing skills. These same skills will also enable students to perform better in the classroom. Developing a better vocabulary for students this age requires exposure to a specific level of language and a systematic approach to maximize retention. Our program is based on a research and clinically proven procedure that enables students to assimilate words through both repeated exposure and context that reinforces a semantic understanding. A further strength of the program, believe it or not, is that it’s fun. Students will complete five booklets a week. Each booklet includes a variety of vocabulary and verbal activities such as analogies, synonyms, antonyms, crossword puzzles, reading comprehension, word scramble, fill-in-the-blank and grammar games. Homework packets are short, but important, since we need to reinforce the skills that they have just learned. Students will be tested regularly to ensure progress.
