Stacey Sloate

Stacey holds a BA in Biology and a BS in Economics, concentrating in Statistics, from the University of Pennsylvania where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. During that time she was both a TA and a peer tutor. She has always found deep satisfaction in breaking down STEM concepts into manageable pieces and passing that knowledge on, as well as helping students game plan how to approach each class. Stacey’s expertise includes biology, chemistry, and statistics.

She received a 525 on the MCAT, including a perfect 132 on both the Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills and the Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems sections. She believes that while the MCAT is a marathon, the right planning, practice, and guidance can consistently improve performance.

Adam Sjoholm

Adam graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a degree in computer science and then served in the Army for over five years. He completed his Army service in 2021 and decided to pursue his passion in science and medicine. Adam enrolled in the pre-health postbaccalaureate at the University of Pennsylvania to complete his pre-medical courses in preparation for medical school. While studying at Penn, he also volunteered at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and began researching brain injury repair at the Perelman School of Medicine. He will be using the skills gained in these experiences when he starts medical school in the fall of 2024. Adam can tutor physics, chemistry (including organic chemistry), biology (including genetics), and computer science. Additionally, Adam can prepare others for the MCAT, having recently taken the exam and scoring in the 92nd percentile.

Adam believes that developing a fundamental understanding of science is like being granted a superpower. He hopes to share his enthusiasm for science with others and help students down the path of lifelong learning and curiosity.

Dr. Susan Dorfman holds a Ph.D. in Anatomy from the University of Pennsylvania Medical School and a BA in Biology from Temple University. After completing two post-doctoral fellowships in neurology at UPenn Medical School and working eleven years in a research lab, Susan became a teacher at the pre-college level in the independent school system.

She has been a private tutor for 20 years on the main line for students in both public and independent schools, tutoring high school level biology as well as prep for the SAT II in Biology, the AP Biology Exam and the Biology portion of the MCAT and DAT.

Emilio Cacciavillani

Emilio’s students have a track record of extremely high scores on the AP Chemistry test, the SAT Chemistry Subject test, and on the chemistry and organic chemistry portions of the MCAT. Emilio is our expert in all levels of organic and inorganic chemistry. He earned a B.S. in chemistry from MIT and an M.S. in organic chemistry from UC Irvine before working as a medicinal chemist at SmithKline Beacham developing potential medications for AIDS.
