Sonia Joseph

Sonia Joseph is a Chemistry and Chemical and Bimolecular Engineering dual major at the university of Pennsylvania, where she is part of the Vagelos Integrated Program of Energy Research (VIPER), a program that each year selects 25 highly qualified students from around the world. Sonia scored a perfect 800 on the Math SAT, an 800 on the subject test math level II, and an 800 on the Subject Chemistry test.  Additionally, she scored a 5 on Calculus BC AP test and a 5 on the Chemistry AP test.

As a student, Eusha was heavily involved in tutoring peers and younger students in Python, mathematics, and physics. He is passionate about explaining difficult concepts in a digestible manner, empowering his students to learn complex ideas by first understanding the fundamental principles. Eusha also enjoys making close friendships with each student, allowing him to personally tailor his tutoring strategy.

 

Through his rigorous study of the natural sciences, Eusha has become fluent in Python, arguably the most flexible and common coding language taught in high schools and colleges. He believes that with enough understanding of how to implement the basic tools and properly structure a project, anyone can learn to use Python.

After completing two post-doctoral fellowships in neurology at UPenn Medical School and working eleven years in a research lab, Susan became a teacher at the pre-college level in the independent school system.

Lisa Queeno

Lisa graduated with honors and worked as a research assistant and lab coordinator for introductory and upper-level biology courses. Currently Lisa works as an upper school science teacher.

Lisa teaches biology, chemistry, environmental science, and zoology. She has also experience tutoring students in earth science and geology. Growing up on a farm in Upstate NY inspired Lisa's love of science, nature, and the outdoors.

Mathias Fink

Spanish

Mathias is a former Haverford School student who is now teaching Spanish at the Baldwin school. He teaches all levels of middle school and high school Spanish, including Honors Spanish 4. Both of Mathias’s parents are from Spanish speaking countries and he has a long standing love of the language, literature, art and culture, a love he brings to his instruction to help inspire his students. He played tennis and soccer throughout his college years and still enjoys those sports today. He brings that passion for sports and competition to his coaching at Baldwin.

Mark Nakahara

Mark Nakahara graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2012 with a degree in Classics. After graduation he taught all levels of Latin and Ancient Greek at Scranton Preparatory School, a co-ed private high school in Scranton, PA. In addition to teaching, Mark worked on the staff of the Santa Susana Archaeological Project in the summer, helping to oversee the excavation of a Roman villa in rural Portugal. After teaching for five years, Mark then entered law school, graduating from Penn Law in 2020. He now works as an attorney in Philadelphia but has never lost his love of the classics.
