Jack Thorell

SAT & ACT Instructor

Jack graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Symbolic Systems, a multidisciplinary program drawing from Computer Science, Psychology, Philosophy, Linguistics, and Statistics, with a concentration in Cognitive Science and a minor in Theater and Performance Studies. He attended local high school St. Joe's Prep, where he gained experience with AP Calc BC and Discrete Mathematics.


Since graduating, Jack has continued to pursue an interest in education, which began during coursework and developmental psychology research at Stanford’s Bing Nursery School. Jack has worked as a resident assistant with Stanford Summer Session and as a nutritional science researcher and educator at the Stanford Department of Medicine’s Farm to Table Camp.


Additionally, after completing a Symbolic Systems Capstone internship there, Jack held an analyst position at the financial services company SEI.


Jack is passionate about getting students excited to learn in a positive, low-stress environment.
