Julie Shaw brings a thoughtful, analytical, and highly individualized approach to SAT preparation, helping students strengthen both the verbal and math skills needed for success on the exam. She works closely with students to identify their specific challenges, build confidence, and develop clear strategies for approaching the SAT in a more organized and manageable way.
Julie earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and holds a master’s degree from Columbia University. She combines a strong academic background with professional experience in analytical research, investigative reporting, and education. Her work has involved synthesizing complex information, identifying patterns, and communicating ideas with clarity and precision — skills that translate naturally into SAT instruction across reading, writing, and math.
In addition to her professional background, Julie has experience teaching high school students in academic enrichment and college essay programs, where she developed her own curriculum and guided students in critical thinking, organization, and effective communication. Her ability to break down complex concepts into approachable steps helps students become more confident, independent learners, and stronger test takers overall.
